If you’ve enjoyed browsing our website, here’s a list of links to companies, organisations and people to help you make the most of your break.
Martock and the local area.
Martock is a quintessential small Somerset town, steeped in history. Find out more about its history and facilities at www.martockonline.co.uk.
If you’re looking for somewhere to eat or drink, before, after, or even during your rental, our good friends Peter and Isabel own The White Hart Hotel, www.whiteharthotelmartock.co.uk. This is our favourite hostelry in the town, serving great bistro lunches and an outstanding evening menu. They also have B&B facilities if you need them!
Less than 2 miles away from us is Southfork Caravan Park, www.southforkcaravans.co.uk, a great place to either start or end your holiday or break. Friendly, family owned and run by Mick and Nancy, in a beautiful, picturesque setting, it even boasts a well stocked shop where you can purchase any of those things you wish you’d brought from home!

Fancy a camper of your own?
If you’ve enjoyed one of our campers and feel like moving up to one of your own, then we recommend you talk to the people who sourced ours for us! Unless you already have a good knowledge of older vehicles, the advice and service you can get from our friends is priceless. There are too many “bodge jobs” out there with a nice “paint job”. Remember, even the newest T2 van is now over 30years old!
Jeff Lawrence (www.jeffsvwshack.co.uk) is Bristol based and is a master at advising you what to spend your money on, then tracking it down for you! (He’s also a belting mechanic and air-cooled VW guru!) He found San Fran for us.
Andy and Karen at VDub Campers, www.vdubcampers.co.uk ,are the UK agents for Kieft and Klock, Europe’s main importer of VWs from the USA. On Andy’s recommendation we bought Monterey and weren’t disappointed!
Our own family van, as opposed to the company vans, came from Gary at Coolcampers in Bournemouth. Gary’s been around VW campers for a while now and has a great reputation for restoring T2s and splittys. He’s always got a good selection in stock so check out www.coolcampers.co.uk to see if there’s anything that takes your fancy!
